From Medina, you’ll turn southeast on Highway 16 and the tour ends at Bandera, Texas, the “cowboy capital of the world.” In Bandera, there are B&Bs, dude and guest ranches, cabins, hotels, motels and RV parks for overnight accommodations. And the activities are as plentiful as the wildflower. Shop for antiques, take a horseback ride, take in a rodeo, visit historical sites and museums or venture off of Highway 16 for scenic drives. Year round there are exciting events to entertain the whole family. And dining establishments to meet any budget, any taste.
Highway 16 is a beautiful drive with switchbacks and turns rivaling any mountain road. However, the likelihood of finding deer and other wildlife on the road at daybreak and sundown is high. And this is NOT a ride for beginners. But if have some experience, and you are comfortable on your bike, this is must-see in southwest Texas.
Winter temps are moderate, with only an occasional snow or ice storm, so this area of the country is motorcycle-friendly almost year-round. Dress in layers, bring your cold gear and your heated gear, and all through the fall and winter months you can enjoy miles of God’s creative beauty across the rolling hills of southwest Texas. Come and ride the Lone Star state. And visit www.MotorcycleAccessoriesUnlimited.com for all of your gear and accessory needs before hitting the road!
