The Value of Motocross in a Child's Life

Every kid needs a hobby, right? And this one is a little more expensive than some - but if compared to youth hockey, where you are paying for ice time and driving your child to practice at 5 a.m. - this is not THAT expensive. And what I have observed in the years we've had the privilege of watching our friends' son race Motocross are a bunch of kids who have a good work ethic, a good attitude and an appreciation for the sport.

They learn to respect the bikes, they respect each other, they respect the rules, they respect their parents - how many kids' hobbies bring that kind of character to a child?! Typically Motocross fans and racers are God-fearing people - they can be trusted around your things, and you need to be trusted around their things. Families set up camp in the race arena, they bring coolers and tool boxes and equipment and gear, and nothing ever goes missing.

Motocross fans and parents help each other out. The kids bond with other racers. They travel from race to race "together" and they learn to love the outdoors - not the video games. They stay in great physical shape because the bike demands it. And they are healthy in body, mind and spirit because they are involved in Motocross.

If you have little ones, and you are mechanically inclined, if you yourself ride and if you have the means, by ALL means, get your kids involved in Motocross - girls and boys alike. Outfit them with the proper safety gear, don't ever let them participate unprotected, and do one of the best things for your kids that you can do. Our boys participated in baseball and youth football and basketball clear through high school, and they learned some great life lessons from those team sports, but I have always been tremendously impressed when we have been fortunate enough to hang out with our Motocross "family."

Motocross for kids is really helpful. well as a father I am very much concerned with the safety of my son. I always check the motorcycle parts and choose only the best for his motorcycle accessories.
